Ruthie Fund

The Ruthie Fund was established in memory of “Ruthie” Gray, a golden retriever who lost her battle with cancer in 2006. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance for the care of pets suffering from sudden illness or injury.  Donations can be made to the Ruthie Fund at the Hillsdale Veterinary Group.  Please ask a staff member for more information.

Vet for a Morning

The Vet for a Morning program is a way for children to get a first-hand look at what it’s like to work in a busy animal clinic.  Students typically spend about four hours with us observing appointments and procedures.  This is a great chance for kids who are considering a veterinary career to have their questions answered by our friendly doctors and staff.

Opportunities for children to participate in the Vet for a Morning program may be obtained on a space-available basis when you make a contribution to the Ruthie Fund. If you would like to learn more or to make arrangements for your child to participate in the program, please e-mail our

We also set aside a limited number of Vet for a Morning certificates for charitable fundraisers or auctions.  If your school or non-profit organization is looking for donations, feel free to contact us for details.

Group Tours

We open our doors for tours and demonstrations to schools, Scout troops and other community-based organizations.  This is a wonderful way to see what goes on behind the scenes in a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital.  What is it like to clean the teeth of a 120-pound mastiff? How do you get a cat to lie still for an X-Ray?  What does a veterinary operating room look like?  Schools and organizations interested in finding out more about this fun and exciting learning experience are encouraged to contact our (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
